Potential Trust confronts the complexity of duality, potentiality and actualisation. On either side of a yellow line, two hammers perpetuate, in alternation, the identical mechanical movement of nailing and un-nailing the same nail. This neon installation is an invitation to meditate on the perpetual movement of constructing and deconstructing, doing and undoing and proposes that we consider similarity rather than difference, the movement between ourselves and the other, and the cycles of the potentiality of trust.
Engagement, by an artist, is to transmit what arises and with the utmost attention. A careful and generous listening to the concept should guide the artwork to the format that it demands, without imposing on a nascent idea further outside thoughts and decisions regarding its realization.
The potentiality of trust given to this form of creative understanding will allow a multiplicity of perceptions, constructions, connections, hierarchies, dialogues and could generate a similar reception of the artwork to be passed on to the world, where the artist is one of the viewers. Potential Trust confronte la complexité des notions de dualité, de potentialité et d’actualisation. De chaque côté d’une ligne jaune, deux marteaux perpétuent alternativement un mouvement mécanique identique consistant à clouer et déclouer le même clou. Ce néon animé est une invitation à méditer sur le mouvement perpétuel de construire et déconstruire, de faire et défaire. Il propose que soit pris en considération la similarité plutôt que la différence, le mouvement entre soi et l’autre ainsi que les cycles de la potentialisation de la confiance.
L’engagement d’un artiste c’est de transmettre ce qui est en train de surgir avec la plus grande attention. Une écoute attentive et généreuse du concept pourra conduire l’œuvre d’art vers le format qu’elle exige, sans que ne soient imposées à cette idée naissante des pensées et des décisions extérieures à sa réalisation.
La potentialité de confiance donnée à cette forme de compréhension créative permettra une multiplicité de perceptions, de constructions, de connexions, de hiérarchies, de dialogues et pourra générer une réception semblable de l’oeuvre d’art transmise au monde dans lequel l’artiste est l’un des spectateurs.
